What it is

This 6-day retreat is for anyone wanting to deepen their practice of meditation away from the activity of their daily life in the beautiful, peaceful environment of Mandali. Supported by regular practice in the unhurried atmosphere of the retreat, we can discover calm, presence, balance, and meaning, and begin to find more kindness and compassion for ourselves, and others around us.

In order to really experience the benefits of meditation it is important to occasionally take time out from our daily routine and cultivate the stillness that comes from the practice. Spending time like this can provide us with the inspiration to continue a regular meditation practice at home and give us the confidence to take charge of our meditation.

Guided by experienced meditation teacher Steve Cope, there will be daily sessions of meditation, including walking meditation in the stunning natural environment. There will be time each day to deepen our understanding with discussion, questioning and sharing.

There will be time to relax and follow your own rhythm—walking in the beautiful countryside, sitting on your veranda, or relaxing in the hot tub—and there is also the possibility to join an optional daily yoga session.

Places on the meditation retreat are limited* so that you can receive all the support you need to make the most of your time at Mandali.

The first day of the Meditation Retreat starts at 3PM but you are welcome to arrive earlier. Check-in time is 2PM but we try our best to provide a check-in as early as possible. Please take a look at our FAQ pages for more practical information about Mandali.

*Whilst places on this retreat will be limited there will be other retreats taking place at Mandali at the same time.

Your Teacher

For 20 years, Steve Cope has dedicated himself to the practice and study of meditation. He has received instruction from some of the world's most respected meditation teachers and has deepened his understanding and experience of the practice through many long retreats. Trained primarily in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Steve has a warm, light-hearted and joyful approach. He communicates the wisdom of meditation in ways that are down-to-earth, practical, and relevant to our busy, modern lives.

Steve teaches in Amsterdam and is the founder of The Meditation Cafe and holds regular retreats at the Mandali retreat centre in Italy. He also helped develop the Bodhi meditation app. Steve strives to find ways to combine online tools with in-person training so as to provide the best possible support for modern meditators. Steve is also co-founder of the international charity Mind with Heart, which trains teachers and students in sustainable wellbeing, emotional health and social connection.
