Mandali Meditation Retreat

What it is

The 6-day Mandali Meditation Retreat is offered for anyone who wishes to step back from the pressure and activity of daily life and take time to explore and deepen their practice of meditation.

Guided by experienced meditation teacher Steve Cope, we will practice four sessions of meditation each day, including the opportunity to practice walking meditation. In addition, there will be a daily session to deepen our understanding through discussion, questioning and sharing of our experience. Particular emphasis will be placed on how to bring the experience of mindfulness and awareness into everything we do.

There will be time to relax and follow your own rhythm—walking in the beautiful countryside, meditating on your veranda, or relaxing in the hot tub—and for anyone wishing to include more movement in their retreat there will be an optional daily yoga session.

Taking time away from our busy lives to experience the clarity and depth of meditation in the beautiful, peaceful atmosphere of Mandali is a great way to stabilize and deepen our practice. It can provide us with the inspiration to continue a regular meditation practice when we get home and give us the tools we need to take charge of our own meditation.

Mandali provides the ideal environment to disconnect, relax and recharge. Supported by regular practice in the unhurried atmosphere of the retreat, you can begin to find a bit more kindness and gentleness for yourself, and rediscover more presence, balance and meaning.

Places on the meditation retreat are limited to 15 people so that you can receive all the support you need to make the most of your time at Mandali.

The first day of the Mandali Meditation Retreat starts at 3PM but you are welcome to arrive earlier. Check-in time is 2PM but we try our best to provide a check-in as early as possible.

Your Teacher

For more than 15 years, Steve Cope has dedicated himself to the practice and study of meditation. He has received instruction from some of the world's most respected meditation teachers and has deepened his understanding and experience of the practice through many long retreats. Trained primarily in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Steve shares the essence of what he has learnt in a way that is non-religious, accessible and relevant to our busy, modern lives. He has a very down-to-earth, practical style and a warm, relaxed and humorous approach.

Steve teaches in Amsterdam and is the founder of The Meditation Cafe. He holds regular retreats at the Mandali retreat centre in Italy and has also helped develop the Bodhi meditation app. He strives to find ways to combine online tools with in-person training so as to provide the best possible support for modern meditators. Steve is also co-founder of the international charity Mind with Heart, which trains teachers and students in sustainable wellbeing, emotional health and social connection
